Who We Are

SPC was created to bridge the gap between Early Intervention therapy and school-provided speech services.

My name is Christy Cazares and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) focusing on pediatric communication disorders. I am a San Diego native and currently reside in the beautiful community of South Park. I graduated from SDSU (go Aztecs!) with my Bachelor’s in Art Education and received my certification in American Sign Language through Grossmont-Cuyamaca College. I completed my student teaching in Fine Art/Art History at Hoover High School and began a teaching career as a substitute instructor for specialized education in Tempe/Scottsdale, AZ. I returned to SD and continued to teach in the K-8th grade parochial schools for 5 years. During this time, I also taught Restorative Yoga to children and adults with disabilities which focused on the mind-body connection.
I eventually found myself in the amazing world of speech pathology, volunteering in child development centers and skilled nursing facilities, shadowing SLPs and immediately I fell in love with the field. After completing my post-baccalaureate at CSU San Marcos, I attended Emerson College in Boston, MA (big Bruins fan! ) and graduated with my Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. My clinical experience includes pediatric clinics, working with medically fragile profiles, pediatric voice & feeding disorders, rare communication disorders, Gestalt Language Processing, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, as well as early language development, fluency, articulation & phonological processing disorders in the school setting.

As a mobile SLP, I serve San Diego County residents from Bonita to Santee and up to sunny Encinitas.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns to see if Speak Play Create is right for your family.

With gratitude,

Christina N. Cazares M.S., CCC- SLP
